On this page, you'll find answers to some common questions about my services and psychotherapy in general.

  • What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychotherapist?
    In Ontario, a psychologist is able to diagnose as well as treat a client, but is unable to provide prescriptions for medications. A psychotherapist, depending on their educational background, is typically unable to diagnose or provide prescriptions for medications, but has specific training focused only on the treatment of symptoms/mental health conditions.   • How much does therapy cost?
    The full cost of a 50-minute session is $150. I do also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots ranging from $70-$150.
  • What is psychotherapy?
    Psychotherapy uses various therapeutic methods (such as cognitive behavioural therapy) to shift someone's thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can create lasting positive changes for those seeking a better quality of life, such as helping to work through negative experiences and emotional functioning.
  • How do I book an appointment?
    Call or email Flourish Psychotherapy Kingston to book a free 20-minute consultation for us to meet, see if we would be a good fit and book your first session!
  • How does virtual therapy work?
    I provide virtual psychotherapy to folks throughout Ontario. This means that I meet with folks either on the phone or via video chat, whatever method is available to the individual in order to allow them to access care.
